Do you think that the Pope, by accepting evolution as a “truth that enriches our understanding of life and being as such” is denying the existence of God?

People often make such squishy, non-confrontational comments on controversial issues.

Likely all that's being said is that the pope is not denying the concepts of variation within species and natural selection, just as virtually no creationists do either.

It proves nothing and it certainly doesn't demonstrate the ToE as stated by FRevos to be true just because it has the *Roman Catholic Seal of Approval* on it.

I don’t know, mom. I think our (allmendream’s and mine) comments have been pretty dad-gummed confrontational (but, maybe I’m not catching your drift).

I think you’re likely correct. I also think the Pope is trying to avoid a row with any particular segment of society and doesn’t appreciate being used as a political football.
