If it's any comfort, I feel an "amazing hostility and anger toward us" as well - us non-Catholics, that is. I also really consider my decision to become non-Catholic to be confirmed especially in light of the inability of most to even consider that non-Catholics may actually really be Christians in the ultimate sense of the word. I am grieved by the name calling and LOL's and abuse and patronizing dished out almost as an automatic reaction to ANY divergent ideas or reasoning.

I actually wonder why some even enter into the threads when it seems their only responses are to disparage and condemn.

So what do we do (IF we should do anything)to foster conversation rather than sniping? Serious question.

I guess I go with Dominus Iesusin the notion that the fullness of the esseof "ecclesia" subsists in those Churches in communion with the Holy See.

But I also think that the lack of organic unity harms ALL of us. And I would be surprised if the bodies not in communion blah blah didn't think that something like "fullness of esse" existed (or subsisted or whatever) among them RATHER than among us.

So, to me, that's kind of the ground rules. And then we proceed to look around and compare and contrast and enquire and describe.

But that's just moi.
