Not at all.
The source cited by Catholic apologists to claim "XX,XXX Protestant denominations" is selectively ignored by those same apologists when it likewise documents hundreds if not thousands of Catholic ones. If Catholics are going to claim the source as accurate and authoritative re Protestant numbers, then it opens the door for Protestants to do likewise for Catholic numbers.
