Pope Benedict to deliver 'intense' message during Fatima visit
EWTN News ^ | 5/5/2010

"Fatima is a particularly significant place for this Pope," said Vatican spokesman Fr. Federico Lombardi on Tuesday, noting that it was also a destination for two former Popes. The Holy Father has a thorough knowledge of the history of the Marian sanctuary, he added.

Fr. Lombardi held a press conference at the Vatican to prepare the media for the Pope's next trip out of the Vatican. He will be visiting Portugal from May 11-14.

The spokesman referred to the Pope's stop in Fatima on May 13 as the highlight and "heart" of the upcoming four-day trip to Portugal, according to Vatican Radio. But, he pointed out, Benedict XVI will not be the first Pope to visit the Marian shrine.

Two other Pontiffs have been to Fatima. In 1967, the sanctuary hosted Paul VI, and John Paul II visited in 1982, 1991 and 2000, at which time the visionaries Jacinta and Francesco were beatified.

The Portuguese shrine is not unfamiliar to Pope Benedict, since as head of the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith, then-Cardinal Joseph Ratzinger extensively studied the message of Fatima. Fr. Lombardi said on Tuesday that the Pope has been involved with history of the Marian sanctuary in a "very deep, personal way."

It was him, for example, who was called upon to give a theological perspective when the third secret of Fatima was made public in 2000.

The Vatican spokesman said that the Holy Father will also deliver an intense message during his Fatima visit. Upon his arrival at the sanctuary on May 12, he will remember John Paul II and the 29th anniversary of the assassination attempt that nearly took his life on May 13, 1981.

This visit marks the Holy Father's 15th Apostolic Journey abroad in his five years and is his first to Portugal as Pope.

During today's general audience, the Holy Father greeted the people of Portugal in their language, telling them that he will be there this coming weekend at the invitation of the president of the nation and the episcopal conference.

He said he was "happy to be able to visit the 'land of Holy Mary'" on the 10th anniversary of the beatification of the shepherd children.

According to Portuguese press reports, local police are planning for a cumulative total of 450,000 people at the celebrations in Lisbon, Fatima and Portugal during the four-day visit.

Post 182 purports to raise Mary above Christ. I explained it in post 327.

The so-called explanation is that calling Mary the mother of Jesus' body puts her above him.

This leaves us with some choices:

Mary is not Jesus' mother.
Mary IS Jesus' mother but we ought not to say so.
Mary is Jesus' mother but not the mother of the body of Jesus.
Paul is wrong to speak of the Church as the body of Christ.

We are to deny Scripture, biology, or reason, or truth.

BTW, IT IS MY OPINION ONLY that St. Paul was likely insane.

I've never suggested otherwise (that it's your opinion, and not a Catholic church teaching) even for a moment. I haven't even mentioned the subject of Paul's presumed (in)sanity for nearly a week now. Why are you bringing it back up?

I am not going to stoop to your below the belt obsessions.

Now that is an ironic statement!

The word “mother” is a title that denotes authority.

Repetition does not constitute an argument. I already asked what your authority is for this statement. I distinguished between authority and honor. I saw no response to these points, only a bald and unsubstantiated claim with which Catholics disagree.

Maybe if YOU acknowledge that Mary is the mother of Jesus, then YOU are putting her above him in YOUR mind. But that would be YOUR problem.

We are her sons and daughters; we love her. We do NOT think of her as in anyway 'over' or 'above' Jesus. That is a figment of your imagination.

“...your posts, is devoid of Beatitude. “

Nonsense. All I’ve said on this thread is that many of the Vatican teachings are antichristian. I doubt this would get even a notice out of anyone but those who are in idolatry to an edifice.

I am following and obeying Christ. I am also trying to warn and help those who may be in danger of being deceived by Rome’s lies. Which is also following and obeying my King. Speaking out against idolatry and blasphemy is not a violation of the Beatitudes.

If you seriously believe that something I said is against any of the Beatitudes, please post that Beatitude and what I said and why you think I violated it.

Of course, I am referring to the teachings of Christ in the Gospel, the sermon on the mount. If by “devoid of Beatitude” you mean, pointing out the error of Rome, then yes, I have done that.

What is against Rome is not against God. Contrary to what some would like to be true, the Vatican is not God. And the fact that this is so hard for some to understand shows clearly that it is an outrageous source of idolatry.

>>netmilsmom asked that question in post 204. Are you admitting here that “netmilsmom” is just one of your sock puppets?<<

“Sockpuppet (Internet)
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
(Redirected from Internet sock puppet)

A sockpuppet is an online identity used for purposes of deception within an online community. “

I have a very long history of posting on FR. People have seen my children, my dog and my cat. They know I am Iron Mom and lived through my love of the movie Hairspray.

Mad Dawg has a totally different history.

Where is yours?

I've never suggested otherwise (that it's your opinion, and not a Catholic church teaching) even for a moment.

You know, that just came out backwards. I meant to say that I've never thought anything except that it's your personal opinion. And if you want to keep believing it and saying it for everyone to read, you have my permission - go right ahead.

Have a care. This is getting personal.

When two people spot the same flaw in an argument, if the error is obvious enough, there need be no collusion.

IMO, posters who pop brand new onto a thread, with no posting history and speak like they are off their meds are either sleeper trolls or sock puppets.

Which one do we have here.

Let's look up "sockpuppet" shall we?

sockpuppet, Urban Dictionary

1: (noun) A fake personality, usually a 'friend' or 'sister,' created by a drama queen/king for the sake of defending him/herself against others in an online forum.

2: (noun) Title used by birth parents to describe any illegitimately born offspring who attempts to contact them, when said birth parents refuse to acknowledge that child's existence. Such individual's intentions are obvious only to the alleged birth parents.

Here's your question: 'Are you admitting here that “netmilsmom” is just one of your sock puppets?'

My assessment of that question is this: (Comment removed due to sinful language. ROFL!)

Exactly.

Where is the posting history?

Or is it okay to have this kind of poster if it’s one that’s more equal than others?

“That’s an implication...”

All I said was that I would rather you read it in there and see it for yourself then to have me tell you it. There are also many wonderful Bible studies available on the web for free.

“To dismiss what you say is to dismiss what God says and, indeed, to dismiss God Himself?”

You can dismiss what I say all you want. But please think twice before dismissing what God says in His Word. What I say is not what God says, I was only repeating what He said. I’m not God, the Pope is not God, Mary is not God. Only Yahweh is Elohim.

His Son, and His Son only, is the Head of the Body of Christ, The Body is made up of all Christians, to become a Christian one must confess with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead.

Then do your very best to follow and obey Yahweh by following and obeying the teachings of His Son Yah’shua our Messiah. They are found in the Word.

All parts of the Word are approved for study. Avoid all doctrines of man or demon, which is anything not in the Bible or that conflicts with what is in the Bible.

That’s all I was saying.

“For one thing — only one —...”

That was three things, but it’s no worries.

“...you are saying that your interpretation of the Bible is authoritative.”

I told you to read the Scriptures and see where anything I said was wrong. If you find something I was wrong about, please post what I said and the Scripture that proves me wrong. We call this “holding something up to Scripture”. If something is found to be contrary to Scripture it is deemed wrong and is cast out.

“...that I put Mary above Jesus.”

I posted my case on this several times already.

“...that to disagree with you is to dismiss God.”

I debunked this false witness also.

Denouncing it and/or ignoring it or having a canned reply might work. Many threads (not only Catholic) quickly become repetitious.

Do not make this thread 'about' individual Freepers. That is also a form of "making it personal."

Discuss the issues all you want, but do not make it personal.

ROFL! You got that right. Catholics worship idols. Catholics worship Mary. Catholics are all pederasts. Catholics are ignorant of the Bible. Catholics take orders from the Pope. Catholics aren't saved. I know I forgot some.

Not only that, we all post the same things. Imagine that! Except the Paul thing. That’s just me. Otherwise, we have a cookie cutter Church, we’re just robots.
