I read, with sufficient attention to the details I hope, your explanation of the Catholic view of praying for the dead. I rather think the question was whether or not we should pray to these departed saints to intercede for us, which is quite a different matter altogether.
The Scriptures discussed make no reference to someone here on earth praying to a saint in heaven for intercession.
How could we? Jesus words about no one coming to the Father except through him seem fairly exclusive.
Perhaps we’re talking about two different things?
