Hi NYer,

LTNS...

I haven't posted much in the last few years and don't have a lot of time to peruse the forums, but I miss you all at FR very much.

This issue is pretty much right on the money. The sexual interaction between an adult male and an adolescent male is known as ephebophilia. It is derived from homosexual attraction and rarely becomes pedophilia, which is sexual abuse of children under 12. At issue, in the Catholic Church, has been the centuries old problem of infiltration into the priesthood by men with sexual identity disorder (homosexuals).

No one has been open about this because it's not politically correct to talk about ephebophila (pedophilia) as a homosexual problem. Also, too many in the Church don't want to recognize the inordinate number of homosexuals in the priesthood. (Conservative estimates are 40% all the way up to 60%) Instead of following the 1961 Vatican directives to disallow a homosexual the right to Holy Orders, the problem continued on.

I have my own theories about why the priesthood became so much of a home for homosexuals, but that's beside the point. The fact is, and it is corroborated by others, that nearly 90% of the abuse cases were ephebophilia and therefore directly correlated to homosexuality.

Another source for this is NARTH. Dr. Nicolosi has done extensive research into this with similar conclusions.

Your Friend,

Deacon Francis
