Heathens are not Christians, they’re polytheists and follow the gods of their tribe.

I see, to which "tribe" do you belong and who are your "gods"?

Heathenry doesn’t have Scriptures. It has lore: From religious texts, to epics of the better folks of their tribe, to ancient texts dealing with how religious worship was originally performed.

Do any of these ancient texts have names?

As for their libertarian community, the vast majority of Heathens I’ve met were libertarian.

That's not at all surprising.

It doesn’t have a purity code or a concept of “sin”. Some things piss the Gods off, but that’s because they’re traitorous or cowardly, not because they are “impure”.

Do most Heathen Libertarians live in their parents' basements?

I'm late to the party Jormungandr has already been zotted, but for what it's worth here's some info from one of his earlier posts:

I grew up in a Catholic family. I converted to Asatrú at age 14. Told my parents at age 16.

Yeah, they were pissed. They eventually let me be: I was not converting back, and forcing me to go through the motions without actually believing would be pointless in both our faiths.

If you Google (or Bing, if you prefer) Asatrú, you'll find that it's a weird concoction of Norse mythology and Germanic/Druidic paganism, with a dash of racial identity beliefs (think Aryanism). Think of it as "Germanic Hinduism" and you'll get the right idea. The Norse self-identification makes post #22 and post #56 all the more hilarious!

"Questions and Answers about Asatru", at The Asatru Alliance
What is Asatrú? at The Heathen Kinship of Houston Area Asatrúar
Germanic Neopaganism, at Wikipedia
