Conservatism's General Rejection of Biblical Authority
The Ignorant Fishermen Blog ^ | 4/21/10 | DJP I.F.

The Conservative movement of today basically consists of individuals with various personal beliefs (both religious and ideological), but conservatism in general sadly rejects outright the absolute authority of the Bible, the Holy Word of Almighty God. It is a “bestselling” book widely reverenced, but too many Conservatives reject its Divine authority and preeminence. These “Subjective Conservatives” cannot see out of this box called time, and thus they are oblivious to the realities of Holy Scripture truth. This includes the coming establishment of the literal Kingdom of Almighty God on earth, as well as their own eternity destiny (John 3:3-5; Romans 8:5-8; 1 Cor. 2:12-14; Jude 1:19).

Our greatest need is not world peace but peace with Almighty God our Creator and Sustainer. Our greatest need is not conservative moral values but the absolute righteousness (godly perfection) that Almighty God provides in Christ to His fallen creation, i.e., man

BS Alert!!
What Conservatives reject is the latest theological BS coming out of MOST Christian churches; SOCIAL JUSTICE, REDISTRIBUTION of $, and LIBERAL GUILT.
It’s been going on for decades.
It started about the time when cowards seeking draft deferments flooded the seminaries (AND TEACHER’S COLLEGES, BTW!)
I calls it the “ChurchofJesusChristtheCOMMIE” and I’m SICK TO DEATH of it. It is causing the utter demise of the old Protestant sects and the Anglican Church—the people instinctivly reject BS!

Unfortunately, Conservatives are concentrating on keeping the Obama admin and the globalist oligarchy from having absolute authority over us.

You are correct in that we must never forget God's plan this world.

I disagree conservatism rejects God’s authority. Some select individual’s may get this wrong but the rejection is of other men’s authority over us, not God.

"sorry, religion is personal..."

Sez who? Certainly not the Bible and that's the authority I go by.

Political “conservatism” is not a theological construct.

Sometimes, just sometimes there seems to be some who like to denounce those who would lay down their life to keep those same critics from being marched off to a concentration camp.

Better a death as those of Mesada than that of Dachau.

See my tagline.

Conservatism must reject individuals claims of special Divine inspiration (AKA “The Holy Spirit”).

Many, many voters avoid voting for conservative candidates because they believe such candidates have a hidden agenda.

I denounce ideas. If those who hold those ideas recognize themselves, tough.

“Sez who? Certainly not the Bible and that’s the authority I go by.”

Please provide a reference to that passage where any of the New Testament writers even suggested a Christian should thrust any of his distinctly religious beliefs into any government policy.

My Bible says that with regard to personal and religious matters, “Now, therefore, there is utterly a fault among you, because ye goto the law one with another.” I Cor. 6:7. [The “law” of course, is government.]

Everywhere, trusting in the “arm of flesh,” that is, in government and politics is condemned. Jer 17:5, Zech. 4:6, II Cor. 10:3&4.

The Bible would not be your authority if you had been born in Pakistan. ;-)

No, the passage in 1 Cor 6:7 is referring to the Courts and says Christians should not sue one another in secular Courts. The key word is the Greek "kríma" which refers to a decision of judgment or a lawsuit. That is a completely different issue. A command to resolve interpersonal disputes among yourselves is not an order to ignore one's civic obligation to participate in political matters as informed by scriptural belief. Jesus says if you love me you will follow my commandments. He didn't say to follow your faith just in private matters. One has a duty to follow their faith in all their affairs both public and private. One is a Christian (if they really are a Christian) 24/7 and they do not separate what the Bible commands into private/public spheres. The way we act in public, the way we vote, the way we participate in the body politic and the issues we support should all be informed by scripture as the highest authority. Thus, I would never support any politician or support any legislation which conflicted with the Bible.

This does not mean that any Church or other religious institution itself should have political power. Political power corrupts everything it touches, always. Religious institutions need to stay as far away from the levers of power as possible. Nor do I appreciate a Pastor bringing politics to the pulpit (except in very rare instances). I come to Church for Christian fellowship, scriptural instruction and to worship God. I get enough politics on the outside, thank you. But, I am a full time Christian and will try my best to practice my Bibliclly inspired Christian obligations in ALL my affairs, public and private...individual and collective.

Just wondering. Do you follow all of the laws in the Book of Leviticus?
