How would you define ‘child bride’? To me a 14 year old is a ‘child bride’.

And then there is the whole FLDS side of the argument.

Are you LDS?

To me, anyone under 30 shouldn't get married (they're not really ready for it), but I would prohibit any marriage for anyone under 18.

Never mind that Utah has 15 as an absolute minimum (16 with "only" parental consent), and New Hampshire has 13 as the minimum. Your claim of 14 is pretty tenuous, unless those marriages were in Utah?

And then there is the whole FLDS side of the argument.

Who have been repudiated by the LDS church. Shall we paint all Catholics based on the actions or beliefs of a few who still claim to be Catholic?

Nope, I am a Christian who attends - and is a member of - a Free Methodist congregation. And as such, I believe that it is not Christian to lie about or attack others for their lack of faith; rather, we should preach the Good News in a manner that is true to the Words of Christ and inviting to nonbelievers.

I know, being ecumenical and open. I'm such a heretic, I guess I'll let those Buddhists in China and athiests in Belgium and voodoo practitioners in Haiti that I've led to Christ know that I was all wrong, and that God really doesn't love them and doesn't command them to not bear false witness against others, and not to love others as you love yourself, who is a Temple of God.
