I've heard of Gomer being Germany. But if we look at where the descendants of Gomer originally settled, it is the area north of the Black Sea. Turkey, a nation listed in Ezekiel is south of the Black Sea. Russia is just east of there.
If we detach ourselves from recent history and Germany and the Jews, and look at where Gomer was origanally, the southern area of Ukraine, and then look at a map of where the rest of the coalition forces against Israel come from, I think it becomes pretty possible THIS is the area of Gomer. This area has strong ties geographically, politically and historically with the rest of the areas listed in Ezekiel.

Gomer can be traced to the old Roman Empire territory of Germania which stretched from Germany into Eastern Europe and the Ukraine.

Gog and Magog refers to the Scythians who were the forefathers of the Russians and other Slavic peoples. I believe this also includes the Mongols who are greatly integrated throughout Eurasia. Ezekiel 38 names Gog, as chief prince of Meshech and Tubal. Which are old names for Moscow and Tobolsk (which is the capitol of Siberia) The Siberians have definite Mongol influence in their enthnicity.
