I think the idea is that a humble human being followed God when she was told that she was to carry the saviour. And showed nothing but faith. The devil you remember in the fall of mankind from the garden really thought he had in the bag for the dominion of the world. I don’t think he figured on her being that faithful. Remember we are free to choose. Being a free moral agent, if not God would of been a tryant. We would have been human robots with no choose. So Mary filled all the requirements with total faith and choice. Imagine if you were a woman and told that you are going to have the Saviour. Then your going to be calm cool and humble, nobody but her to go thru this until God saw the right woman at the right time in history. And the hate the evil one has for the one that got away! Insane hate. Remember the first sin was pride. Angel pride. To think a humble woman obeyed to help bear the Only Saviour. A mere human in his eyes not a God or good angel. Insane Hate Indeed. Defeated by a female handmaiden of the lord. Also remember he turned the first woman Eve. But not the 2nd Eve. No thats because Mary was the Woman in Genesis 3:15-I will put ENMITY{ a state of deep ill will and hate} between YOU and THE WOMAN{note singular noun}, and between your seed and her SEED; HE shall bruise your head,and you shall bruise his heel.” And for that I’m eternally grateful! AMEN- PRAISE JESUS AND HAIL MARY INDEED!!! And that is why Mary is the Greatest woman of all time!!!!
Trust me, the devil hates God more than another mere mortal, Mary assigned by God to bear His Son. I’m sure the devil hates Ruth and Elizabeth who bore John the Baptist. It is GOD who created all of them and GOD who is in charge; not Mary, Ruth or Elizabeth. None of them are superior to God. What happens is always due to God’s plan; not the devil’s plans. Ultimately the devil knows that God, through Christ will defeat him; not Mary, Ruth, Elizabeth or any other mortal.
