I can name three currently in prison, one of whom was laicized, but not civilly convicted at the time (the offense wasn't criminally illegal, truthfully, but was a violation of the office of the confessional), and is incarcerated in another state for a crime committed after his release from the priestly state. At least when he was buried within the archdiocese in a place with no ministerial contact, he was under a sort of house arrest. Once this man was laicized and turned loose on society...well, another person out there suffered and probably now has a life ruined.
I think what needs to be remembered is just that...life is ruined for the victims of these crimes and added to this knowing that those who assaulted them will not do jail time for their crimes. A few perhaps, but on the whole it doesn't appear to be the case, so they are indeed on the lose, and no doubt others will be victims.
In part our society is equally as much to blame for these victims as we allow the homosexual agenda to continue... and I do believe Christ will hold us accountable for this. Homosexuality is not a lifestyle as it's “prettied” to be. It is a choice of who and where one selects sex with. It is a sexual sin against another as well as ones own body...needless to say against God...and the results affect the whole body of believers. Including those of other denominations.
Though I am not catholic I feel greatly for those within the denomination who have to contend and rid their church of this...it is an ugly foe to face and will not loosen it's stronghold quickly. May Christ himself strengthen and give great courage to those who can and will rid this from the church.
