Jed claims to be a prophet.
Oh, he'll dance all around the question if you ask him directly
and couch his responses in a disjointed quasi-Biblical phrasing
but he'll absolutely not deny it. He's been posting very odd and
downright sacreligious stuff for a while, even claiming to be the voice
of the Lord at times. Fascinating really, but a bit mental.
We are directed to shun false prophets.
Dang, that sounds complicated!
I’m responsible only for the taboulet. Husband and kids are doing the rest.
I didn’t really notice the poster and don’t know anything about him—it to me that appeared you were criticizing Scripture.
Again, I apologize if I was mistaken.
No worries.
I was planning on steak and mashed potatoes, but you've inspired me.
There is usually a good lamb selection where I resupply and I think I'll check it out.
It has to go on the grill, though.. I'm not mowing the dang grass just to look at it out of a window.
We’ll probably grill ours as well, even though #1 Son keeps making excuses for not mowing the back yard.
AMEN! AMEN!
I wonder how many know that Mr T reportedly is a very strong authentic Christian—Pentecostal variety.
A number of folks hereon seem to persistently practice that rare skill of singing Opera in a very dark place of great familiarity to them.
I guess they have to go to India, first, for contortionist training.
We have a wonderful new Greek Taverna here now.
Great stuff.
Sounds terrific. We rarely go out, but we make our best effort at a number of different ethnic cuisines.
Have begun to talk with the owner about spiritual things. Greek Orthodox, of course.
Not yet clear if it’s social/nominal or if he has a real relationship with God. Am afraid it may be more the former.
He IS personable and seems to enjoy our chats. So, will see. Can only nudge. Holy Spirit has to do the real work.
Best wishes! Many “Greek” restaurants I’ve been to were actually owned by Lebanese people.
He is WAY more authentic than whatever voices talk to semi-literate self-styled internet "prophets".
True that.
This owner is quite GREEK through and through.
Though he’s been here since 1970. LOL.
Isaiah 53:7 (The Message)
7-9He was beaten, he was tortured,
but he didn’t say a word.
Like a lamb taken to be slaughtered
and like a sheep being sheared,
he took it all in silence.
Justice miscarried, and he was led off
and did anyone really know what was happening?
He died without a thought for his own welfare,
beaten bloody for the sins of my people.
They buried him with the wicked,
threw him in a grave with a rich man,
Even though he’d never hurt a soul
or said one word that wasn’t true.
I remember when Mr. T’s style of dress and “outrageousness” in calling people “Fool!” were terribly shocking. “What if children see that?!?”
Usually, folks WERE being fools!
Won’t fly in the Millenial reign, however!
I wouldn’t mind if Mr. T turned up to scowl at my sons ;-).
John 15:20-21 (The Message)
20”When that happens, remember this: Servants don’t get better treatment than their masters. If they beat on me, they will certainly beat on you. If they did what I told them, they will do what you tell them.
21-25”They are going to do all these things to you because of the way they treated me, because they don’t know the One who sent me. If I hadn’t come and told them all this in plain language, it wouldn’t be so bad. As it is, they have no excuse. Hate me, hate my Fatherit’s all the same. If I hadn’t done what I have done among them, works no one has ever done, they wouldn’t be to blame. But they saw the God-signs and hated anyway, both me and my Father. Interestingthey have verified the truth of their own Scriptures where it is written, ‘They hated me for no good reason.’
