That's because they spoke Greek and called it "pascha", just like Greeks call it "pascha" today.

And it should have stayed "pascha", instead of busy little fingers changing it to Easter. Christians are sometimes so wrapped up in their traditions they willingly are led astray.

It was busy little fingers in England, northwestern Germany, and the Netherlands, because everyone else calls it either "pascha" (or a word derived from that), or "bright day".
