Like I said, to each his own.

Don't forget:

Whatever floats your boat.
All roads lead to Rome.
Like spokes on a wheel, they all lead to the hub.
If it feels good, do it.
All truth is relative.

It all sounds good except... we have this dude named Jesus who very clearly said:

I am the way, the truth and the life and no man comes to the Father but by me. John 14:6

I am the door: by me if any man enter in, he shall be saved. John 10:9

Because strait [is] the gate, and narrow [is] the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it. Matthew 7:14

Other verses in the Bible also define the way to God as one way. For example:

Acts 4:12 Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.

Philippians 2:10 That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth;

So, sorry...that's a nice-sounding platitude, but unless you're talking about personal tastes in clothes or food, etc., you can't call yourself a Christian if you don't believe what the Bible says it means.

Hello Boatmans....

Hey I did listen to Becks video......I do think Beck had an encounter with God and perhaps Christ, though he wasn't clear about Christ. His focus in the video was not on his church...rather more of the encounter with God and that “something” happened.

I think Beck started out seeking a church but at some point began seeking God and meaning business with Him. (I'd like to hear what he thinks of Christ.) I say this because I do know that God responds to a seeking heart...and He will meet them any where and anytime that He knows that persons Heart is sensitive to Him. I believe Beck has a relationship with God which is not dependent on the Morman Church.

He went to that church because his daughter, who is ill, felt warm there and she wanted to return there. His baptism also seems to have been meaningful to him...again it was the act to Beck not the church.

I believe the morman church indeed does mislead and their are many deceptions about it...but Beck certainly appears to have had an encounter with God...and seems to maintain it.

If Beck has used the Book of Mormon rather than cross checking with the scriptures to see the errors then it's understandable why he is still there. I also think his needs were so great, having lost so much, that the fellowship and belonging someplace likely hold him there.

He needs of course to go further and when and if he does he will see the truth. But he is surely on the way. Lets hope he'll research further the doctrines in Mormonism and learn the history as well...then he will determine hopefully he needs more.
