Well last I remember from my religion classes is that JSjr translated the NT but not sure if he did anything about the OT ... interestingly enough, JSjr translated the mistakes of that time into his translation of the Bible ...so much for his insight ....

They used to claim that at LDS baptism the new member was given a ‘spiritual blood transfusion’ that made them a descendant of Aaron.

No, I am not kidding.

I am having to really work now to be shocked any more (sigh).

Do they believe that the Old Testament is also translated incorrectly?

yes, they do.

But what’s a “seventy”? Some sort of LDS Sanhedren?

He retranslated both the OT and the NT.

Part of the JST Genesis is in the Pearl of Great price as the Book of Moses.

the more you know about Mormonism, the harder it is to shock you.

What sort of "acts" does an LDS junior high kid do in the name of God? They can't even match two socks at that age.

(Hey whaddayamean? According to Lds.org: An office of the Aaronic Priesthood. A boy is normally ordained a deacon when he is 12 years of age or older. Some of a deacon’s responsibilities are to pass the sacrament and collect fast offerings from the members.)

Now, hit the "rewind button" to the apostle Paul, 1 Tim. 3:12: A deacon MUST be the HUSBAND of but one wife and must manage his children and his household well.

(And here the Mormons all these years have been putting their emphasis upon "marrying" 14 & 15 yo of the wrong sex! They should have been ensuring these boys were married by age 11 or 12 so they could "manage" their children/households well!!!!)

The point that the JS version was only a paraphase and not a ‘translation’ is an important point.

The fact that Joseph Smith did not know the original languages of the scriptures would, of course, kept him from doing a new translation.

But would it? JS claimed to have translated ‘reformed’ Egyptian to produce the Book of Abraham under the inspiration of the Spirit of God. Yet when the key to the Egyptian language was finally unlocked by scholars, the manuscripts used by JS to ‘translate’ the Book of Abraham were found to be nothing more than Egyptian death records! They had no resemblance to what Smith has ‘translated’!

It is remarkable to me that today intelligent people can believe this stuff ....

Aaronic priesthood has to be in the lineage of Aaron? So is this the time of the Gentiles or not?

Christ was originally sent only to the house of Israel; but since that time the Gospel of Christ is primarily subscribed to by gentiles.

Also, Since it was John the Baptist himself who restored the Aaronic priesthood on May 15th, 1829 (See LDS Scripture D&C Section 13) I suppose he would it was OK.m Or do you think your opinion is more valid than his?

It is a wonder then, sad as it is, that some Mormon missionaries are murdered on their missions ... what with that superhero stuff and all .... they wear that special underwear that’s supposed to protect them from all evil and harm?

What's the name of the type of "logic" in which you use a flawed premise in order to support a flawed premise. A googling I shall go..... be back in a minute...

A “Seventy” is part of their hierarchy. Not sure of his reasoning to decline being an ‘elder’ since it usually a requirement for temple rituals, unless they have modified it from then (which is likely).

So lds really don't get the "do this in remembrance of Me"?

Personally, I do not care if they use water or wine or grape juice or flat bread or wonder bread, it IS the remembrance of Him that is the issue. I met a man who was a Holocaust survivor and they held, in secret of course, communion using a flat bread (they were saving the meager bread they received and on occasion were given lemons) and lemon juice.

"For I received from the Lord that which I also delivered to you: that the Lord Jesus on the same night in which He was betrayed took bread; and when He had given thanks, He broke it and said, 'Take, eat; this is My body which is broken for you; do this in remembrance of Me.' In the same manner He also took the cup after supper, saying, 'This cup is the new covenant in My blood. This do, as often as you drink it, in remembrance of me.' For as often as you eat this bread and drink this cup, you proclaim the Lord's death till He comes" (I Corinthians 11:23- 26).

Mormon missionaries are murdered on their missions

Having water thrown on you...........Ok I do not recall any lds ever being murdered on their mission because they were on a mission. (Not talking about random acts of violence.)
