This is awful. Nuns gone wild. The AP reports:
Catholic nuns are urging Congress to pass President Barack Obama's health care plan, in an unusual public break with bishops who say it would subsidize abortion.
Some 60 leaders of religious orders representing 59,000 Catholic nuns Wednesday sent lawmakers a letter urging them to pass the Senate health care bill. It contains restrictions on abortion funding that the bishops say don't go far enough.
The letter says that "despite false claims to the contrary, the Senate bill will not provide taxpayer funding for elective abortions." The letter says the legislation also will help support pregnant women and "this is the real pro-life stance." More to come. Check back soon.
This kind of thing will almost certainly confuse many Catholics. Methinks the Dems have had this in their pocket for a while and are now attempting to create momentum. This comes on the heels of Catholic congressman Dale Kildee's official endorsement today and the Catholic Health Association endorsing Obamacare.
What really kills me is that the bill clearly funds abortion. Do they really think that if they lie openly enough and loudly enough that everyone will simply accept it.

Oh they admit He existed allright. But just ask them what role He plays in the economy of salvation.
It appears it was the LCWR who signed this. THe Network just brought it to the press’s attention.
Whats next???
Catholic Nuns declare Christ never really existed.
Why not? That's what they've been saying about Adam and Eve for decades.
Vultures, I think ... with apologies to actual vultures. I certainly mean no offense to my fellow Avian-Americans.
Just like the “Nuns for Choice” bunch — Bride of Christ, they dare to wear His ring. He’s going to have a loooooong chat with these women when their time is due.
Right, because money is fungible, and you CAN'T separate funding, it's all just accounting gimmickry -- unless there is specific language that bans federal funding of elective abortion, since it is a legal procedure, those of us taxpayers with a conscience, know that the womb holds life, we will be forced to facilitate terminating that life. That language has to be a part of the appropriations bill(s), not just in the authorization bill(s).
Oh yeah I know they are two faces on the same coin.
Yes, the popes have been adamantly against out and out godless Marxism, but see nothing wrong in a nanny state.....as long as the Church is allowed to function.
USCCB News Release

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Clarification
WashingtonA recent letter from Network, a social justice lobby of sisters, grossly overstated whom they represent in a letter to Congress that was also released to media.
Networks letter, about health care reform, was signed by a few dozen people, and despite what Network said, they do not come anywhere near representing 59,000 American sisters.
The letter had 55 signatories, some individuals, some groups of three to five persons. One endorser signed twice.
There are 793 religious communities in the United States.
The math is clear. Network is far off the mark.

This is largely the fault of our media, which is looking for good news for democrats, and will report press releases as if they are truth.
Plus, the 2000 years of Nuns as trusted servants of the Lord kind of makes people believe them when they say things — in this case we learned that some Nuns can lie for political gain.
They probably always use spell checker to avoid embrassing spelling problems like:
We are a Katholeac gruop...
[As an example]
“The average American has a good opinion of Nuns-——”
—————————————————————————————— Not me. Parochial school in the forties and fiftes was awful.
Maybe the pope will purge the ranks
What kind of “nuns” are the dudes in the photo?
