Yes, the Church will always teach the truth .. as long as it is the true church of Jesus Christ. But The Catholic Church quickly went its own way, inventing its own doctrines**. The Protestants recognized this, but are no better off, foundering around in their own little universes.

The LDS church has less of a claim of being a ‘restored’ church than the RC church has a claim of being the original church.
