So, in verse 18 Jesus was referring to revelation from God as the “Rock” on which the Church was built, not Peter himself.

Typical LDS misinterpretation and twisting of scripture.

There is a play on words in the Greek that does not come through in English, the play on words is “peter” and “rock”. Furthermore, the construct in the Greek reflects back unto the word “church” not Peter or his admission.

It is NOT referring to ‘revelation’ in any way. Nor is it referring to a particular denomination. That is a twisting of the Greek word ‘ekklesia’.

The more Greek you know, the even less LDS twisting of scripture makes sense.

That's true but what is you know an obscure, little to not known Egyptian language? .-)

Actually, the ROCk in this, was the TRUTH that Peter spoke, that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of the Living God

not that Peter was THE ROCK

Peter is a man, and a man that Jesus called Satan just after he spoke that truth
