Don't be GUTLESS!!
Name names!
Don't be GUTLESS!!
Name names!
Don't be GUTLESS!!
Name names!
When things really, REALLY need to be slick!
Comin’ up!
Gutless? Not only does she not name names, but I asked her to explain the “gospel” she so dearly loves.......
....no response.
Why am I not surprised?
A lot of bigots, what ever happened to the statement. “When Ever Three Of You gather in my Name!”, as the definition of a Christian.
Bears repeating!!
And, I might add, the actual harm being done to these young people is a result of the mormon church pinching pennies in regards to food, shelter and medical care for these missionaries. Salt Lake can build billion-dollar malls and million-dollar temples, yet even though funds are provided by the missionaries and their families for their missionaries, these funds are controlled by the mormon church. The living conditions of some missionaries are horror stories.
These are just a few of horror stories from ex-LDS-missionaries...more and a very graphic post that won't last in the Religion Forum can be found at

Just got photos from my son in South America and I'm really ticked off... |

He sent us mission photos of his bedroom, and it is worse than the worst slum I've ever seen. I can't believe the church feels ok about having their missionaries live in such poor conditions. What a greedy bunch of misers. |
After those two missionaries died from CO poisoning, I can see how you would be concerned. My question would be--is it hazardous? I've heard stories on this board of missionaries getting shocked in the showers, etc. Or is it rundown and dirty? |
Horrible peeling paint walls with cracks, poor lighting, a bed that he doesn't fit on, they go elsewhere to shower. Not sure about the hazard factor, but it looks much worse than any apartment I ever lived in. Gross! |

One of my GFs served in Peru on her mission. She sent me photos that were |

unbelievable. Her and her companion lived in a wooden shack with nothing between the inside and outside but wooden slats that were no longer fitting tightly together. They wet some newspaper and plugged all of the slots the air was creeping in from the outside and then layered newspapers over the boards for extra wind protection. |
My ex mo husband told me horror stories of his mission..everything I learned about doing without food came straight from his mouth..saurkraut juice so they wouldnm't be hungry and their stomachs would shrink...days without food and the bitter cold in Canada..I would never let a child of mine suffer that way...God sure didn't plan for us children to live that way while calling ignorant people to his service...it stinks |
Since the day of the Prophet Joseph Smith, we've had approximately 447,969 missionaries serve in the world," Elder M. Russell Ballard said in 1989. "Of those 447,969, (some) 525 have lost their lives while serving as full-time missionaries," he added. "When you contemplate that number, it appears that the safest place in the whole world is to be on a full-time mission," concluded the member of the Twelve.

Don't get 'em WET!
They thought nothing about throwing rocks or other things at Americans - so it is likely your sister was persecuted for being an American.

When we lived in communist Eastern Europe (1980’s), I was constantly insulted and spit on because I was an American.
You are most likely right, ‘zilla.
Sorry rocklobster: this posting probably drives you NUTS!
I knew I could count on you, “honey”. ;)
Uh... the useage of it fell away because it wasn't true?
Matthew 18:20
For where two or three gather in my name, there am I among them.

That was never the definition of a Christian - but was a promise made to Christians.
The issue here go far deeper than that. Do you consider anyone a bigot who tries to convince another to join their church?
When Ever Three Of You gather in my Name!, as the definition of a Christian.

It doesn’t apply to those who trash the name of Christ or twist the Bible and turn Jesus into something unrecognizable.
I used to be LDS, I speak from experience, not ignorance or hatred.
If the LDS want to be considered Christian, then their history/doctrines/teachings are up to the exact same scrutiny of any other group wanting to be called Christian.
If they can’t handle the scrutiny/objections then, real simple, QUIT CLAIMING TO BE ‘JUST ANOTHER CHRISTIAN DENOMINATION’.
But claiming that we are bigots because we are holding the LDS to the same orthodoxy standard we hold other Christian denominations to shows that the LDS want the perks without the work and that the LDS thinks they can ‘pull one over’ on Christians.
Now, tell me how I am a ‘bigot’ again?
Loving and serving them how?
Knocking on their doors, insisting that they take literature they don’t want, like the LDS who do that to me?
If she’s rejoicing for being persecuted, why do you get so bent out of shape over it?
All she did was get wet and as far as I can tell, it may not have even had anything to do with her proselytizing, so might not even count as persecution.
” Ive been spat upon, had things grabbed from my hand and thrown to the ground, Ive been pushed and pulled, Ive been yelled at and called names. “
No Mormon would do any of those things. Nope. Nope and nope. I am sorry those things happened to you but don’t try to blame it on Mormons.
When I was in Salt Lake City at Temple Square last summer there was this young man with white face paint and he was wearing Temple garb. I guess he was protesting or something and I asked him if he was a Mormon and he said, “You bet.” I have no idea why he was there. It was just very strange.
I have seen some of the anti Mormon protesters at General Conference on YouTube and the Mormons passing by pretty much ignored them. BTW some of the anti Mormons are satanic looking and acting.
Peace.
If shes rejoicing for being persecuted, why do you get so bent out of shape over it?

The LDS get bent out of shape about it because it makes them feel ‘special’ and reinforces the lie they tell themselves that the Mormon church is the ‘only true Church’.
My experience, not just my opinion.
They are pleasant and smile at the door, but like I said before, when I tell them I read the Bible and have a church I like that I regularly attend, they still INSIST on leaving literature. I wouldn't go as far as to say loving and kind because all they've ever done is preach at me. They've never gone out of their way to show love or kindness.
I've tried turning it down and they just won't accept it. So now I take it and say thank you and feed it to the paper shredder as soon as they're gone.
If that's the kind of persistence that this guy encountered from them, then I understand his frustration and they're really lucky that nobody has done worse to them yet.
