The plural form of the expression "Let us make man" has long been an interpretive problem for commentators looking at the Old Testament through the lens of strict monotheism

Except that, out here in the real world, Christians are trinitarians who have no problem at all with this passage and similar passages that speak of God in both a unified and plural personhood manner.
