After reading this sidebar about the color extremes of black and white, I'd like to offer a thought for meditation - namely, that once black has been added to white, no amount of white added back into it can make it more than a shade of gray.

Rats, I should have added that I use that metaphor to illustrate the hopelessness of man after the fall. He could never be good enough, he had to be born again.
