Rao is now on the list of banned sources for being anti-conservative, anti-war, anti-capitalist and anti-American.

I will however let this final article stand so that anti-ProtestantISM issues can be discussed to balance against all the threads where anti-CatholicISM issues are being discussed.

>> I read it — it has interesting points — what do you think of the 12th and 16th paragraphs?

I read it as well. It was an anti-Protestant screed on par with the anti-male feminist screed “The SCUM Manifesto” (http://www.womynkind.org/scum.htm) — in that it is both delusional, and reveals more about the author than it does the subject.

Paragraphs 12 and 16 are entirely based on false premises, and thus just as preposterous as the remaining paragraphs. Paragraph 16 is a continuation of the statement in Paragraph 15 ...

“Protestantism [...] degenerated into a mindless form of Christianity. At best, it exhausted itself in pious practices, moralizing, and social work, as though one could long remain in agreement [...] without the active involvement and adhesion of the human mind. At worst, it became an insane religion, whose liturgy encompassed bodily writhings and senseless howling.”

Protestantism is characterized as “mindless” and “at best pious moralizing without the active involvement of the human mind”; “at worst an insane religion of bodily writing and senseless howling”. He constructs straw men (such as joyless Protestantism, “complete depravity”, “permanent fast”, etc.) in order to reach his insane conclusions about the nature of Protestantism. That he couches his insanity in big words doesn’t really impress me.

If you deem his characterization of Protestanism “interesting points”, we really have nothing further to discuss. A “barren harvest” would not bring millions upon millions of people to Christ — as that remains the definition of a fruitful harvest.

“”anti-conservative, anti-war, anti-capitalist and anti-American.””

You have it wrong. Rao is a traditionalist and against modern forms of Christianity(modernity). He is more conservative than the most conservatives in a sense that he sees the errors of modernity and the eventual collapse.

Rao is also the Director of the Roman Forum and Dietrich Von Hildebrande Institute which are highly respected by conservative Catholic’s http://www.romanforum.org/

Do you plan on banning GK Chesterton, Archbishop Fulton Sheen as well because they think along the same lines as Rao?

If so, than FR an anti-Catholic

Rao's credentials as a Catholic are not in dispute. Nor would I object to posting an anti-Protestant webpage as an "open" thread in the Religion Forum.

But Free Republic is a conservative forum. We do not give space to liberals much less anti-conservative, anti-American, anti-war, anti-capitalist advocates.

Define what you call conservative from a Christian viewpoint on the religion forum?

I do not debate theology as the Religion Moderator. Concerning conservatism, refer to the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution.

But I for one am thankful for the training this forum provides.

Amen

Think of it as a microcosm of how Romanist despotism would work in the real world.

We already have the lessons of history.

Unfortunately, it's clear that the amalgamation of Romanism and Secularism is radically changing our country and the lessons we learn in this microcosm may be of some use in the macro world to come.

I have different take on it. I don't think they are all that cunning. I think their hierarchy because of their isolation from the world and the abnormal self imposed lifestyle they live are the useful idiots of the left.

It seems we are approaching a time where there is no middle ground in this country. The left wants big unionized govt overseeing every aspect of our life. The RCC tends to be in this camp, except for life issues. The right wants limited govt and individual freedom coupled with personal responsibility. The Born Again Christians tend to be in this camp.

I think the end will come when the govt defaults on it's debt and in the chaos 2 different countries will emerge. I think history is clear as far as which will prosper.

This is harsh. I only know enough about my Catholic faith to recognize the lies when I see them. I would never pretend to know more about Proties faith than they do, so I’ll leave it at that - Harsh Words.

“Free will occurs in humans in and out of fellowship with God. Our Lord exemplified how we are to think and behave in our free will, through faith in what He provides by His Plan.”

Let all note this above: All assertion, no proof.

No more contrary argument needed.

Okay, I've seen this kind of wild speculation before, except it was the accusation that there's going to be some kind of collusion between Catholicism and Islam. Which is it fellows? It's not like this kind of wacko conspiracy theorizing is anything new in "Reformed" Christianity. I guess it's a manifestation of the anarchy inside of your wing.

Dear Friend, perhaps you need to read the Syllybus of Errors before you call something lies.

http://www.papalencyclicals.net/Pius09/p9syll.htm

The following excerpts are all error’s condemned by the Catholic Church...

15. Every man is free to embrace and profess that religion which, guided by the light of reason, he shall consider true. — Allocution “Maxima quidem,” June 9, 1862; Damnatio “Multiplices inter,” June 10, 1851.

16. Man may, in the observance of any religion whatever, find the way of eternal salvation, and arrive at eternal salvation. — Encyclical “Qui pluribus,” Nov. 9, 1846.

17. Good hope at least is to be entertained of the eternal salvation of all those who are not at all in the true Church of Christ. — Encyclical “Quanto conficiamur,” Aug. 10, 1863, etc.

18. Protestantism is nothing more than another form of the same true Christian religion, in which form it is given to please God equally as in the Catholic Church. — Encyclical “Noscitis,” Dec. 8, 1849.

55. The Church ought to be separated from the .State, and the State from the Church. — Allocution “Acerbissimum,” Sept. 27, 1852.
