The song We are the World, which was released 25 years ago to raise money for the African famine, has assembled a modern cast of pop stars called We are the World 25. This star-studded array of performers from all music genres has united to help the Haitian victims of the 7.0 magnitude earthquake that struck on Jan. 12, 2010.
These performers have not only donated their time, money and talents but have been quite successful in their fundraising efforts, for which they should all be commended.
Their humanitarian efforts should be duly noted, but lets look at the true spirit of this particular humanitarianism and its delusional expectation in light of a cursed and fallen world.
