Their “revelations” have always been timely. None of that waiting around like in the old days.

1. There is no official Book of Mormon geography.

2. Joseph Smith’s comments should not be construed as revelatory.

OK, no problemo, Mickey lad...

Joey ought to be happy the man-god never sent him on a trip.

Man-god: "Joseph, I need you to share my prophecy with the last of the Nephites..."

Joey Smith: "How do I get there?"

Man-god: "No clue..."

Sadly, nice doesn’t get a person to Heaven. Too many forget people forget that.

All you need to know about Mormanism you can learn by watching South Park. Same with Scientology.

On one hand we have a book that we can see through the study of history and archeology to be accurate in terms of what’s been recorded. On the other we have another book that has a cloudy history, and no archaeologist has ever been able to verify anything that’s been written about the Nephites. And they have sent a lot of Mormon archaeologists out over the years to attempt to do so and haven’t been able to.

Personally I've always had a problem with the Mormon polygamy thing, as well as it's insularity, domination mindset, and nontrivial similarities with a lot of Masonic ritualism. And for a long time, the whole ancient-development-in-America thing just didn't make any sense because of the apparent lack of an archeological record.

But over the years, more and more evidence of suppressed archeology has come out - much of it astounding. See the Forbidden Archeology website for some excellent articles, and I highly recommend the book of the same name.

All in all, I think Joseph Smith found out some ancient American history through his Masonic involvements and simply decided to start a religion based on them. I think he made up the revelatory aspects, but fronted, in representational form. a lot of secret masonic knowledge. Probably infuriated the Masons, but Smith figured it was all fair because as far as he knew it represented secret truth, and didn't release specific names he swore never to reveal. And then he got to be King of Utah (I'd laugh, but this is serious).

How about the Hill Cumorah in New York? Shouldn’t whole stash box, including the plates, be inside?

According to tradition and early testimonies, the hill is supposed to be full of gold treasure and artifacts yet none have been found.

Many years ago, they said that the plot and story of the Book of Mormon took place in MISSOURI.

I never heard that, but wouldn’t be surprised. I know they believe that the Garden of Eden is in Missouri (they call it Adam ondi Aman).

After this discussion is completed, we shall discuss Mormon astronomy, and the whereabouts of Kolab.

I think Smith and Young said that Independence, Missouri was where the apocalypse was supposed to start. I don’t know if these are or were considered official revelations, especially in light of the LDS’s subsequent move to Utah. However, there is still presence of Mormon splinter groups on the “Temple Lot” in Independence.

You are correct. The exact location is Adam Ondi Aman near Far West.

There is currently an LDS guy building a VERY LARGE compound (1000 acres, 18K sq ft house, cabins) in the area. I suspect he is doing it for the ‘second coming’.
