Nuts and Bolts - By Tim Staples: Mary Worshippers Need Not Apply
Envoy ^ | Tim Staples

The Scenario:

Ever have one of those days when you’re feeling full of energy and vigor? I mean, you’re feeling just obnoxiously happy? Well, this is one of those days.

Driving home from work, you switch on the radio to see what’s happening, and you tune in to a local Protestant radio station just in time to hear a preacher speaking against various Catholic doctrines concerning Mary. The show is called Pastor Bob’s Bible Hour. Pastor Bob proclaims: “Jesus knew Catholics would come along and begin to worship His mother and call her perpetual virgin and absurd things like that. But the Bible says: ‘Is not this the carpenter’s son? Is not His mother called Mary? And are not His brethren James and Joseph and Simon and Judas? And are not all of His sisters with us?’ (Matt. 13:55-56a). And isn’t it sad, my brothers and sisters?”

Pastor Bob goes on to say: “Jesus dealt with these Mary worshippers in His day. In Luke 11:27-28, the Bible says, ‘A woman in the crowd raised her voice and said to Him, “Blessed is the womb that bore You, and the breasts that You sucked!” But He said, “Blessed rather are those who hear the word of God and keep it!”’”

On a normal day you would probably just listen, take a few mental notes and drive on. But not this time. You’re feeling a little bit too saucy. You take the first exit you see and head for a phone. This is just one more reason why you need to buy that cell phone you’ve been talking about getting.

Step One:

Perhaps we’re being quoted the “JustforCatholics” answer.

You are joining Pet in attempting to put words in my mouth.

Nonsense, I have plenty of examples of your denial of the Holy Trinity.

You will most likely will get away with it as it would appear that the RM provides cover for members of the Roman "church".

Here's the reality, on any given day I can go on to multiple threads and be incorrectly told what Catholics believe. However, when I say that you deny the Trinity, it is a statement of fact based on multiple posts you've made.

But, to be fair, if you will say that you DO accept the Holy Trinity as fact, I will immediately apologize and never bring it up again. Your call.

You know that I believe that Jesus the Christ is G-d The ONE and only YHvH.

Then what do you believe of God the Father and the Holy Spirit?

Some members of the Roman "church" formally trained in theology state that we can ignore the old god because he is mean and nasty and not warm and cuddly.

Since it's established that what you refer to as the Roman "church" also includes Baptists, Calvinists, Methodists, Pentecostals and etc., I wouldn't begin to know which heretic you refer to.

But the” Protestant me “thinks of it as referring to the conception of Jesus..

Now it makes even less sense, are you saying that you DON'T believe that the Blessed Mother conceived our Lord in her womb through the Power of the Holy Spirit?

We are of the “all generations” that call Mary “blessed” when we read the New Testament and see how God highly favored her to be the instrument and vessel through which “unto us a child is born,;” in the flesh of that child (1 Tim. 3:16) the Son is given to rule the world in righteousness (Isaiah 9:6 and context).

Catholics pronounce that and treat it as an adjective..Mary herself " blessed" as if blessed was a unique feature of her spiritually...Actually the meaning is highly favored

In this verse in question it is a verb, not an adjective

Tense:
Perfect meaning it was an act that did not need to be repeated
Voice: Passive...in other words she had no part of the action..it was done to her

All women call her blessed because they would all consider it a blessing to have such an honor

Do you think that Catholics should be prohibited from being moderators? (For the record, I have no clue whether any moderators are or ever have been Catholic.)

***********************

Interesting question. How do we know that the Religion Moderator is not an atheist?

Does it really matter? One can study religion without being of any faith. One can moderate a forum without faith.

The Immaculate Conception has NEVER referred to anything other than the conception of the Blessed Virgin Mary. (Though you will often hear it in movies incorrectly used to refer to the Incarnation and Virgin Birth.)

Exactly. The question looked like a setup, until I realized the poster did not appear to have the answer to her own question.

“Immaculate” refers to being free from the stain of sin, so in that sense it was certainly immaculate. However, the Immaculate Conception of the Blessed Mother DID include all of the elements of a normal conception, she was just protected from the stain of sin (and this was because of God’s Power alone).

Now, now, I have it on good authority that the Religion Moderator is a Druid who dances naked under full moons and drinks sheep blood.

“she was just protected from the stain of sin”

How is the stain of sin transmitted and how was she protected from it?

Then the dragon became angry with the woman and went off to wage war against the rest of her offspring, those who keep God's commandments and bear witness to Jesus (Does her offspring include all Christians, or just Catholics?)

The woman is Israel and it was and is her seed that Satan still makes war against ...

Mary never grew eagles wins and flew off

Funny hermeneutics from the side that have Mary in their OPIOS. "Mary" flees on eagles wings into the desert, after the resurrection. Not to mention the 3 and one half year foetus. But what's a little thing like getting the correct interpretation, maybe that's what the magi told them

***A sinless Mary would not have a human nature, but a divine one.***

Using your analogy, Adam and Eve had a divine nature before the fall.

Sadder still they think we we hate them because we do not venerate her or the pope. I do not hate anyone ...
