The argument could (and probably already is) taken further by saying “God loves and accepts all people whether gay or straight, incestophile or animalophile”.
If the point is, as you state, that God (supposedly) loves people no matter what kind of sexual gratification they seek or practice, why leave out some just because it’s distasteful to some old fashioned uptight prudes?
And the other point is that God’s love for His children doesn’t mean that He loves our faults, failures, discrepancies and sins. Far from it.
God loves and will accept us just the way we are, through the atonement of the sacrificial death of Jesus Christ, providing we admit that we are sinners and are willing with His help to change. He does not accept sinners for them to remain as they are. He knows if we are genuine about wanting His pure and perfect will for our lives. If we think that we are coming to Him merely for “fire insurance” without intent of giving our lives over to Him to begin our endeavor to become conformed to the holy image of Christ we are deluding ourselves and remain unregenerate.
