Well...the real problem started long ago, when they started simulating ordinations of women “priests.”
This is just the icing on the cake.
It’s a shame about the wymyn priests. It’s not that there is anything wrong with women... I like women quite well, thank you very much. I also find any number of women to be revered, listened to, advised by, cared for by, prayed for by... women I hold in the highest esteem, for whom I feel the deepest respect.
But ordaining them was the slippery slope, and it had predictable results. Thank God Rome held firm. I wish that they would work on elevating the visibility of and reverence for the Religious in general, including the wonderful nuns who do God’s work every day. It should be demonstrated that there are myriad ways for the sisters to contribute.
Just not as priests.
