In their defense I find most if not all of my Catholic friends to be good Christians and believe pretty much the same as I do to the point that were serve in many of the same ministries sharing the message of God's Grace. That is despite there being “troubling” aspects with certain practices among the various Catholics around the world.

Of course if they were perfect Martin Luther would have been just another in a long line of nameless Priests and men like Charles Wesley would have still been writing hymns in Latin...

But the core ideas are much closer than they are between the apostolic faiths and the fiction of the LDS.

(full disclosure: I was raised Methodist, converted to Orthodox but now attend a Methodist church again for personal reasons)
