Wow. Thanks for posting that!
While widely believed, this is essentially nonsense.
Under the circumstances, his mom could have undoubtedly gotten an abortion performed with up to date medical assistance. Such "back-door" as opposed to "back alley" abortions were always the norm, particularly for non-poor women.
The death rate from abortions dropped dramatically in the 30s and especially 40s because of advances in medical technology, particularly antibiotics.
Medical procedures don't become more or less risky due to their legal status. Sheesh.
I'm seriously annoyed, however, by the fact that author Matt Anderson, and/or his editor at Life Site News, doesn't know that "God" should be capitalized. I guess it's just one more indication of the dismal state of education in the USA.
His mother’s decision would have been more strongly influenced by her perceptions than by reality. A sixteen-year old girl “in trouble” (as the saying went in those days) was hardly in a position to have made an “informed” decision.
I could never presume to understand the pain and hurt of a woman who has been raped, and the decision leading to a possible abortion.
At the same time though, a crime has been committed, but who is being punished the hardest?? The most innocent of those involved - the baby.
Under my Obamacare, you'll get an abortion whether you like it or not!
God bless Kelly Wright and his mother. She made the right choice and he has grown in to a good man.
Fair enough. Although at some point her parents probably noticed she was pregnant and presumably had some input on her choices.
I just wonder why God wasn’t capitalized, they managed to capitalize other proper names.
~~God bless Kelly Wright’s Mom ............. BUMP!
Thanks fo sharing that - I did not see that Huckabee segment and Kelly Wright is one of my favorites.
Choosing life over death, love and forgiveness over hatred, these are the moral decisions of a truly spiritual person. If after our death our souls are laid bare before the Lord, his mother’s soul will be judged to be like the finest of gold and that pastor, well it’s best not to mention what may become of him.
*ping* - endearing story here
Proponents of abortion always use the rape argument to end the discussion, they assume that once that comes up, most people will be embarrassed and shut up - but there is a whole story about “children of rape” that needs to be told. Kelly is an exmaple of that.

Bump!
I think Kelly Wright is one of the best and smoothest journalists Fox News has. I had no idea of the circumstances of his birth, or that he is also a minister. Hats off to his mother and him.
Lump in my throat. Thanks for sharing. I saw part of the segment but not the whole.
