It’s Awesome!!!
Nice voice but the M3 modulation was too abrupt and ruined it for me.
As I watched it, m ytears were flowing, my lips were quivering, and I got all goose-bumpy.
I noticed that, too, but either it fixed itself as it went on, or I stopped being bothered by it.
I listened once more...and I never fail to get goose-bumps.

Just fantastic!
Amazing what you learn. I never knew the hymns were mainly structured on the black keys of the piano nor that the author of the hymn had been the captain of a slave ship.
The presentation and performance was breath taking.
Thank you for sharing this wonderful uplifting post. With so much bad news day in and day out, this was truly uplifting.
m ytears = my tears
A.W.E.S.O.M.E.!! Thanks for sharing!!
Thanks for that!
on the Internet. I never would have come into contact with this amazing singer and learned about negro spirituals, black keys and so forth without the Internet. My horizons are broadened each and every day. This was a fantastic post.
Amazing Voice !
thank you so much...
Thanks for the nice words, but I didn’t post that, Saved By Grace did.
The education on the five note “slave scale” was interesting. Wintley Phipps has a wonderful voice and I enjoyed this rendition.
But in terms of sheer musical beauty and inspiration, I like the version these guys did even better. The venue is an old Roman amphitheater ruins in Croatia.

Amazing Grace!
Amazing Voice !
And incredible presence and command.
He does have a fantastic presence. He looks tall doesn’t he? He’s shorter than me, I think he’s around 5’8”, not tall at all.
