Christians believe that there is only ONE God, composed of the three persons of the trinity.
Mormons do not. They believe they are three gods with a mutual purpose:
"The trinity is three separate Gods: The Father, the Son, and the Holy Ghost. "That these three are separate individuals, physically distinct from each other, is demonstrated by the accepted records of divine dealings with man," (Articles of Faith, by James Talmage, p. 35).
Why not just go about their business? Why partner with anyone? They’re huge.

Yep. The LDS say they are not polytheists, but kinda hard to deny that with quotes like that.
