You can’t discard a spouse because he or she gets sick on you.

Mouse1 said he has left and she hasn't heard from him. He refuses help, or medication. She allowed him to uproot the family, and relocate because he felt he was being watched by unknown persons who were dangerous.

It hardly sounds as if she has discarded him. Her number one priority as a parent is to the welfare and safety of her minor child.

Prayers are certainly in order for the family, but to safeguard her child against any violence, abduction, or harm from an unstable parent comes first.

“It hardly sounds as if she has discarded him.”

My remarks were not addressed to Mouse1, for whom I have the greatest sympathy.

I was replying to note 54 in which Melian said, “The hard truth is that we can’t let a sinking family member take us down with them.”

“Prayers are certainly in order for the family, but to safeguard her child against any violence, abduction, or harm from an unstable parent comes first.”

Goes without saying.
