For a single line put in < br >, but without the spaces
To get a double return, put in < p >, but without the spaces.

There is a application out there, PageBreeze ( http://www.pagebreeze.com/download.htm ) which is a free html editor where you can type in what you want to see and then you can copy the html and paste it into the post.

I am back from the hospital, groggy as all heck. They wheeled me into the operating room and the next thing I knew, I was in the recovery room feeling pretty happy.

Thanks all of you who prayed for me or thought good thoughts about me. That really means a lot to me.

reaganaut, was I wrong in doing so?

You post about folks who do not appear to follow Christian doctrine:

We ANTIs point out problems with MORMONism THEOLOGICALLY speaking.

If you want to show where CHRISTIANITY is WRONG - then do it.

JS alluded to things, but NEVER proved his point.

Thanks Elsie! I am no longer italically challenged. Now, how do I get a "return" in to post these entries on separate lines?

FR will treat a reply with NO HTML code in it as straight text - you just type normally; and what you see is what you get.

However, if it finds ANY HTML code in a reply, it assumes the ENTIRE reply is coded that way.

It may LOOK to you that you have put spaces between the lines; but they merely are gaps between words as far as the browser is concerned.

To get a NEW line, insert this command:   <BR>   (for a line BReak)

To get a vertical SPACE between lines, insert this command:   <P> ( for a PAGE break)

Oh heck; while I'm at it......

insert this command:   <B>  to BOLD your text,
insert this command:   </B>  to unBOLD your text,

<U> and </U> to UNDERLINE stuff

COLORS and SIZES come in another lesson  ;^)

(To see the code for everything between the double sets of horizontal lines; select ALL text in this box)

<DIV><FONT size=2 face=Arial>To get a NEW line, insert this command:&nbsp;&nbsp;

lol. Hence the “bash” is quotation marks. I explained to my husband (mrreaganaut) the background of our posts and why I worded my public response to him as I did. He was not aware you are LDS.

I find it the attempt at ‘giving us a taste of our own medicine’ to be rather amusing, if more than a little pathetic.

I know very few Evangelicals who support Televangelists, most of us consider them to be crooks/corrupt/heretics, so your attempt falls flat.

BTW, praying for your surgery today.

It was POSTED by a MORMON.

One who has had little luck in DEFENDing MORMONism, so perhaps trying to get CHRISTIANS to defend what he considers to be a BAD example of a christian would divert some attention away from the HERESY of MORMONism.

It may look (and it IS if you did it all by hand!) but I cheat and use my e-mail OutlookExpress© to do most all of my big stuff.

I just type what I what as an e-mail, then click the SOURCE tab at the bottom left of the screen and cut everything after the BODY command.

Paste it in the reply box and yer good to go!

Oh!

Check by using PREVIEW first; you may have dropped something...

I’ll have to try using Outlook.

I cut and pasted from both Word and Notepad with no success, and didn’t wan’t to take time to figure out all the HTML stuff.

Looks like I may have to though, for longer posts. On short ones I’ll use the shortcuts you supplied.

Have a lovely day!

Thanks, the operation went great. They pushed me into the operating room, put a mask over my nose and the next thing I knew, I was waking up in the recovery room. Twenty minutes later, I was on my way home.

There is a lot less numbness in my right leg, but there are still rocks glued to the bottom of my foot, but they’re a lot smaller and smoother.

Did you notice how some of the people reacted after I started this thread. How do you think they would react if I started a thread every time I found an article about some mainstream preacher molesting a child or abusing his power in some other way. Remember, I live in the South and I see this articles all the time. Do you think the responders would attempt to make it all out to be somebody who is trying to cast a bad light on mainstream Christianity? Is that any different from what Colofornia does?

When you mention someone you should ping them also. (Snarky name changing is juvenile).
I say go ahead do what you want its a free country (for awhile anyway).
The difference is that Christians know when bad is bad where as ldsers seem to deny, of deflect.
Glad the surgery went well. Speedy healing.

Why not post factual articles including links to the posts that you believe are in error? We are always open to new information that may dispute the reams of LDS material (usually taken from a known LDS site) that we post, IF it can be sourced as accurate.

Using FAIR apologetic material that is stirred, shaken and baked into something not remotely resembling the original quotes and doctrines won't cut it, nor will whining, calling names, accusing us of not "acting as Christians" and/or claiming persecution.

If you care to post detrimental articles about Christians, post away. You saw at least one of our number on this thread who does not uphold the actions of Roberts. Lockstep belief is not required.

This is an open forum. Christianity does not demand working towards perfection....there are Christians who sin, there have always been sinners, and there are lots of sinners that are presently wearing temple garments.

As an aside, I am thankful your surgery went well. Feel free to request prayers from the Inmans on any matter...we are a prayerful group.

I am glad to hear the surgery went well.

It is proper etiquette to ping a person if they are mentioned in the post.

Most LDS do not seem to get the idea that Mainstream Christianity is VERY different from Mormonism, not just theologically but in how we view other people who claim to be Christians. Apples and Oranges.

For the LDS, being “Mormon” is being a member of the Church, active, faithful, temple attending, tithe paying, testimony bearing, word of wisdom observing. Those OUTWARD signs are what makes an LDS person “worthy”. If you do all the LDS tells you, and avoid what they tell you to avoid, then you are deemed “worthy”, regardless of what is in your heart.

For Christians, our heart is reflected in what we do and how we act. If someone claims to be a Christian, yet molests children, other Christians will be the FIRST to call them on it.

For Christians (especially evangelical ones), being a faithful Christian is an internal, spiritual event/process. Christians can freely admit we sin, because we are not held to a strict hierachical interpretation of “worthiness”. To Christians, Christ’s righteousness is imputed to us. It is His righteousness that God sees, not our sins.

Does that mean we can “sin all we want”? God forbid! It means we recognize that we cannot, by ourselves, do anything BUT sin. Christ living in us, is the only thing that enables us to live a life of works pleasing to God. Christians do not do good works in ORDER to gain anything (favor with God), we do good works BECAUSE Christ lives in us and He uses us to show others HIS GLORY. We do “good works” BECAUSE we are saved, not in ORDER to be saved.

Someone who claims Christ, yet does not reflect Him in any way is someone who most Christians would not consider to be truly Christian. When a person accepts Christ, their heart, their very life is RADICALLY changed. That is something that cannot be faked.

This is in contrast to the LDS who are very likely to see someone who does the outward things of the LDS church to be a “good Mormon”.

You suggest posting articles about pastoral “abuse”, not doctrine. Well over 90% of articles posted about the LDS on here are about LDS doctrine/practices IN THEIR OWN WORDS AND FROM THEIR OWN SOURCES. While occasionally a thread is posted that relates to a specific person in the LDS (Reid or that Ponzi scheme guy) by far the threads are about LDS doctrine from LDS media sources.

Feel free to post articles from Christian newspapers, theologians, TV shows, and Christian media sources. We can handle it. Christians are constantly attacked by the secular media.

Our fight is not with individual Mormons (with a few exceptions like the above), our fight is with the LDS gospel of works and the real issues of their theology/history/practice. Issues that many LDS avoid as well or consider embarrassing. Issues that are hidden from those “investigating” the LDS church. Issues that are considered heretical by the Universal body of Christ.

If the LDS church was much more up front with the problems of Mormonsim, and renounced their problematic history, doctrines and attitudes (like the Universal apostasy and the Book of Mormon as being divine) then, and only then, will they be able to truly modify their doctrines in line with authentic Biblical Christianity.

Oh, it was!

We had an icy fog roll thru in the night and morning light revealed a sugar coated world!

Real pretty 'til it warmed up some and it all vanished.
