I’m not trying to convert my neighbor. In this storyline, I found out my neighbor is a Christian, doesn’t matter which denomination, and I asked my neighbor for advice. I am not very happy with life right now and I am hoping that find the best philosophy/religion possible would help.
My neighbor will probably make some sincere suggestions and then, being the logical type, I would ask some very sincere questions.
Once again, I’m not trying to convert my neighbor, and if my neighbor asked me to church on Sunday or whenever, I would probably even go a couple of times.
One more reply from me.
First, develop a personal relationship with God, through Christ, then find a Church - or not. The point is in Christian fellowship.
Thanks for the clarification — between your trying to make the question hypothetical, yet injecting some information about yourself and your neighbor, your post was a bit confusing.
With your clarification everything makes a lot more sense.
I hope you find your neighbor’s suggestions helpful, just be sure you are not exceeding the comfort level of your neighbor in your discussions.
Good luck — in the meantime, while you may feel things are missing from your life, give thanks for what you have, that’s a good starting point.
Bing Crossby sang a nice song in Whilte Christmas:
COUNT YOUR BLESSINGS (Instead of Sheep)
(Irving Berlin)
from the 1954 movie “White Christmas”.
When I’m worried and I can’t sleep
I count my blessings instead of sheep
And I fall asleep counting my blessings
When my bankroll is getting small
I think of when I had none at all
And I fall asleep counting my blessings
