I served with three practicing Mormons in the Navy and several backsliding Mormons and they were all very dependable men. I also lived in SE idaho for 3 years during my time in the Navy and the people there were good salt-of-the-Earth types. Perhaps that’s why I’m so much more tolerant of the LDS church than other FReepers.

When I said foxhole, I didn’t mean a literal foxhole. I meant that I’d be glad to stand shoulder to shoulder with a Mormon to save America.

Crazy...eh?

I've been good/decent friends with 3 mormons...and not a one of them would I describe as "salt of the earth".....

I also know two casually here....and one I'd say is exactly has you describe....but he's a jack mormon.

The other is just going thru the motions to retire with the "church".
