A think tank has compiled and analyzed reports of the harassment, intimidation, and gross expressions of anti-religious bigotry shown in reaction to the successful passage of Proposition 8. If partisans of marriage redefinition continue to increase in power, the analysis warns, those who seek the preservation of marriage as a union of man and wife may risk paying a price legally, socially and economically. The Heritage Foundations Oct. 22 report The Price of Prop 8, authored by researcher Thomas M. Messner, said that many individuals and institutions who defend the nature of marriage as a union between a man and a woman have paid a heavy price.
Militant opponents of Prop. 8 targeted supporters with a range of hostility, including harassment, intimidation, vandalism, racial scapegoating, blacklisting, loss of employment, economic hardships, angry protests, violence, at least one death threat, and gross expressions of anti-religious bigotry, the report stated.
Vandalism included a brick thrown through the window of an elderly couple who put a Yes on 8 sign in their lawn. Another senior citizen with a pro-Prop. 8 bumper sticker had her cars rear window smashed.

Those who are targeting people who voted for Prop 8, or trargeting those who contributed financially to getting Prop 8 passed are terrorists.
Call these Christophobes what they are: terrorists.
They are terrorists who harass, threaten and attack those who voted for and/or supported Prop 8.
Domestic terrorists at that.
“Militant opponents of Prop. 8 targeted supporters with a range of hostility, including harassment, intimidation, vandalism, racial scapegoating...”
Sooner or later, the shooting will begin and “militant opponents of Prop. 8” will be the ones targeted. People are only going to take so much sh*t.
The opponents of Prop. 8 have the Devil as their father.
The opponents of Prop. 8 have the Devil as their father.
Blessed are they who are persecuted for the sake of righteousness, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.

But someone on Free Republic last week mocked a Mormon Church leader who posited that these threats are akin to the voter intimidation that occured against supporters on the 1964 Civil Rights Act. This person also posted a piece by some leftist journalist also mocking the analogy and said poster even defended Keith Olbermann calling this Mormon leader “The Worst Person in the World” on his show one day in October. I think this article shows in fact the analogy was apt and the poster who sided with liberals in mocking it a fool for having agreed.
the poster was obviously pro-gay.
which poster was pro-gay? confused.
You may be right. I mean, if he doesn’t like the Mormon Church, fine. That’s his right. But why side with evil people like Olberloser and these other pro-gay thugs just because they share his anti-Mormon bigotry? I guess with some the enemy of my enemy is my friend.
The next time you contribute more than $100 to a conservative cause, do so in the name, address and phone number of a radical liberal you know of. Let them terrorize their own.
I was replying to missesbush in post #9. Sorry, I didn't mean to suggest that you are pro-gay.
LOL, I like your devious thinking!
It’s ok.
