Haunted houses, ghosts, demons—our Western culture can’t seem to get enough of the spirit world. The latest Gallup poll indicates that 42% of Americans believe in demon possession, 37% believe in haunted houses, and 32% believe in ghosts. (Not just Americans are enthralled—40% of the British believe in haunted houses, too.)
Though interest in the paranormal is widespread, the majority of people are skeptical. They discount all spirit activity, going so far as to deny the existence of Satan and demons. Atheists stated this view succinctly in a sign they planted next to a manger scene last Christmas at the capitol building in Olympia, Washington:
“There are no gods, no devils, no angels, no heaven or hell. There is only our natural world.” What is the Christian position?
Clearly, outright denial of Satan and demons is not the answer. That view rejects the revelation in the Bible and the phenomena witnessed clearly and broadly in many lands and societies. The first- and second-world countries, not just third-world countries, experience demonic powers, whether knowingly or unknowingly.
As the former chairman of the theology department at Moody Bible Institute and author of Demon Possession & the Christian, I have carefully studied such topics. Demons are real and need to be taken seriously, even if many claims about evil spirits are fabricated or exaggerated.
Unless we have a biblical view of God, mankind, and the spirit world, we will not have the perspective to understand the evil that plagues our world.

Demons and Lucifer are real.

It was a 12 flat apartment building, the whole Building was haunted, not just our apartment. I know about 'spirits' (ghosts) first hand. When I moved out when I got married it was the first PEACEFUL and restful sleep I got in 26 years.
As a serious paranormal researcher coming from a Christian world-view I have seen and experienced some unexplainable things. I have worked with a few Demonolgist over the years and heard some mind blowing tales. Stories of possessed people's eyes turning pitch black, voices leaving their mouths without moving, levitation, psycho kinetic moving of objects, having secret knowledge about people. In fact one of my personal friends is a researcher depicted in a Hollywood movie about Demon possession. Satan runs a military operation down there in hell, with a hierarchy of demons and a chain of command. Each one of us here on earth has a particular demon assigned to us. Our own personal tormentor who uses the collective intelligence of all mankind to influence us. Demons are much more crafty and infinitely more intelligent then we can hope to be. Trying to battle them through religious mumbo jumbo or new age foolishness is hopeless. As is falling back on false or incomplete faiths such as Judaism or Islam. Here is the disappointing and disheartening part for people who think chanting verses from the bible and squirting holy water at unseen entities like in the movies will actually work. They really never leave, they just hide, they as the bible said, walk about like a devouring Lion.
What the church doesn't tell you is that more people who claim possession, and are certified as such leave their possession experience in the same state. Victim souls who never get relief. Only the apostles had a perfect record against Demonic entities. I say this to al those who cavalierly and proudly walk about thinking they can poke a stick in Satan's eye and then hide behind our own logic. That means sinning with impunity, engaging in New Age rituals, or boldly picking a fight with the powers of darkness. Its best to assume a posture of obedience to God and accept Satan and his demons are real and we live in his playground and pretty much powerless on our own to defend ourselves. Only deferring to Jesus as our protector can we hope to avoid serious buffeting by the powers of perdition.

I’ve known people who boldy prate about winning demonic warfare. They are some of the oddest and least likely Christians that I have ever met.
It is only with a shield of holiness and walking on the Via of Christ that one may pass. Demons, like lions, will pick of the easiest prey. But they will do it, not necessarily with strength, but with deception.
May Almighty God protect us, in the name of the Father, and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.

Did the apt building ever get blessed by a priest?
Second it. In the end, you do have to decide if you believe in God or not.
Often when there is attacks by the devil, even from what I have heard a few years back from a devote Catholic friend, they will call in a RC priest who are trained to do prayfully get rid of evil spirits because they are considered the “big guns” in getting rid of them.
