***I thought that the Swedenborgians have sojourned past Jesus, so that the Bible is relatively unnecessary
You are misinformed. From True Christian Religion #3:

The particular details of faith on man’s part are:

1 God is one, in whom is the Divine Trinity, and He is the Lord God the Saviour Jesus Christ.***

I think that you guys have this a little mixed up. Jesus is one of the Trinity.

***You will note the Word is front and center and represents the Lord present when opened. The Word is surrounded by seven golden lampstands (Rev 1:12). ***

I was a 32nd degree Freemason. The Bible was opened in the middle of the Lodge. So? The Freemasons are not Christian.

***I personally consider a lolcatz translation of the Word the highest blasphemy.***

I personally consider self identification as God to be of the highest blasphemy. The LOLcat translation of the Bible is better than, for example, the NIV.

*** Thanks for the warning. Do you get to speak as God these days or have you relinquished that task to others?

I’m unclear***

I don’t have any posts, just a question.

***How well do you take it?

Humiliation of the ego is how the Lord enters a soul. I was very prideful, thinking and believing I knew it all when in fact I knew nothing.***

Nobody knows nothing. Taking pride in humility nullifies one’s humility, anyway.

Back to the beliefs of the Swedenborgians:

http://www.swedenborg.org/index.cfm says that: All people who live good lives, no matter what their religion, have a place in heaven. Therefore, what need of the Bible? There have presumably been good atheists at some point.

I also noticed the claim that men will become angels. Scripture is clear that men and angels are different classes of beings.

I’m dropping discussion of my personal beliefs on this thread. I consider myself a Christian and care little or nothing what you consider me. This thread is about something else.
