Liberal and conservative Catholics alike would prefer not to discuss how the Catholic Church, here and abroad, functions like a liberal/left-wing political lobby.
Some pro-life Catholics are acting shocked that the Vatican warmly greeted the awarding of the Nobel Peace Prize to President Obama, who is pro-abortion. They don't seem to understand that the Vatican and Obama agree on most major international issues.

Seems to me you are engaging in preemptive panty bunching. The Catholic Church is not a threat. It lacks the power to coerce or impose anything. The same crowd who engage in collective hand-wringing and Pope bashing are the first to bemoan the Churches lack of ability to crack down on wayward Catholic politicians.
I believe, like many, that the writing of the CiV was guided by the same Holy Spirit that guided the writing of the US Constitution. The Church has a duty to God to serve all of mankind, not just those fortunate enough to have been born in the US. The CiV reaffirms that all men are endowed by their creator with unalienable rights, not just Protestant Americans. If you have a problem with that I have to question the sincerity of your Christianity.

It’s just my bias that in this crazy world, there’s not enough caring to go around . . . at best.
There are some posters’ posts that are pretty much always worth ignoring. Devoid of any meaningful content, usually filled with lots of bluster and digital spasticity, one can only wonder about the poster (especially since inferences from posts to states of mind are herein forbidden).
I've kinda come to prefer the goofy font and color use as it signals me to pass right by the trash. In fact, as it very much facilitates navigating to posts worth reading, I wouldn't object if certain posters were required to post in that style.

Of course, it's easy to criticize documents and authors one hasn't read, and to criticize them for things they don't say. It's about as easy and as moral as railroading Rush for stuff he didn't say.

The Democrats want us to think that the victim's need is society's or the community's, anybody's need, but not yours -- no solidarity.
And they want us to turn immediately to some government agency to address the need -- no subsidiarity.
Mind you, I gained my very rudimentary understanding of Catholic social teaching by ... study! I did not gain it by reading simple-minded and uninformed critiques
