They took “Amazing Grace” and messed around with the lyrics so as not to hurt anybody’s feelings by being called a “wretch.”

Why...they can’t even let their own hippy-dippy music alone: “Let There Be Peace On Earth,” and “Blowin’ In The Wind” have both had their lyrics scrubbed of any non-gender-neutral language, as has “Whatsoever You Do” and even “Hark, The Herald Angels Sing.”

Gimme a good “O Sacrum Convivium” and I’m happy.

"Wretch" is protestant code for total depravity, a heresy. Man is not a "wretch" because even while in a state of sin God give him grace to respond to His promptings.
