“God gives us a free will He allows evil to exist, but has nothing to do with cause of evil.”
Unless I’ve missed something, nobody here is debating over whether there is evil in God. I hope we all agree that God is not capable of sinning or harboring evil thoughts, intentions, etc....
What is being debated, is the sovereignty of God. Is God in control of this world or is man in charge? It’s a heavy topic and one that is worthy of our utmost reverence for Him as He has revealed Himself to us in Scripture.
Well, at least we read it and understand it. If that is dangerous to the Roman crowd...so be it.
Someday when Rome teaches the constituency to read, give us a call and let’s discuss Rom. 13.
Not sure if it is Catholic strategy or just the kind of people that are attracted to the cult-like atmosphere of Rome, but obfuscation seems to be standard fare.
Are we covering “analogies” now? What happened to baptism?
And the mysticism implied by “Living with the Bible not only in study but in prayer for a LONG time...” lacks substance. Think about and drop me a note another day.
Yes, those are certainly in my Bible, boatbums. And, yes, they certainly do seem to say what they say, don't they? Good post...and thank you.
I made an analogy, and somebody got a hold of the wrong end of it, showing that he either didn't or wouldn't understand it. On the off-chance that the misunderstanding was not malicious, I made an effort to explain the errors one can make in arguing with somebody else's analogy.
If you think there is anything wrong with Bible study, Lectio Divina, and thinking and praying about what you read in the Bible, I'd sure like to know what it is.
Fabulous: One bunch of Protestants claims we don't read the Bible enough or even at all. Another bunch says we read it too much and take it too seriously.
And they want to be taken seriously when they describe and complain about the Catholic Church!
