Romans 12:6 (King James Version)
6Having then gifts differing according to the grace that is given to us, whether prophecy, let us prophesy according to the proportion of faith;
1 Corinthians 12:9-20 (King James Version)
9To another faith by the same Spirit; to another the gifts of healing by the same Spirit;
10To another the working of miracles; to another prophecy; to another discerning of spirits; to another divers kinds of tongues; to another the interpretation of tongues:
11But all these worketh that one and the selfsame Spirit, dividing to every man severally as he will.
12For as the body is one, and hath many members, and all the members of that one body, being many, are one body: so also is Christ.
NOBODY is questioning that a select group of people have the gift of prophecy, but this number is very small.
However, many of us also realize the danger of numerous false prophets.
Also, many do not consider a generic prediction which can be met by regularly occurring events to be a prophecy. Saying that there is going to be some sort of natural event (a flood, tornado, earthquake, hurricane, blizzard, etc.) will occur sometime in the near future is no more prophetic than the author of a newspaper horoscope saying that something unusual will happen in your life today.
INDEED.
Though clearly some are not REALLY interested in Scripture, only in trashing those dissimilar to themselves.
