Anyone who does not wish to be personally the subject of discussion should refrain from making himself personally the subject of discussion.

When a poster makes himself the subject of the thread then he has increased the likelihood of the thread being locked or pulled due to unrelenting personal remarks, e.g. "childish behavior."

If a member of this forum claims personal authority (as I outline in #50):

Has he, or has he not "made it personal"?

Is challenging the legitimacy of said claim to authority a form of "making it personal"?

Sometimes

it seems like there’s a deliberate, if not co-ordinated attack of such comments by ‘naysayers’ for the sole purpose of getting a thread they disagree with locked.
