Hey, Quix, I really do live by the golden rule. I expect people to be honest in their dealing with me, and I return the favor to them. If I’m spouting “wacky prophetic stuff,” call me on it.
As Christians, we owe it to each other to speak the truth and keep each other on the narrow path.

I whole-heartedly agree.
I believe in the GOLDEN RULE to the extent that I really would PREFER folks treat me as I treat many of those assaulting me most stridently hereon . . . if they think I’m in that much error. Leave no stone unturned!
However, labeling another Bro a nutcase merely because he disagrees with something reasonable people can disagree over . . . seems a bit of a stretch.
If Scripture were clear cut on it—another matter—and while I think it IS CLEAR ENOUGH cut on it in favor of Jedediah—I recognize that there’s SOME room for argument. . . .
I’m convinced that folks who say that ALMIGHTY GOD’S EVERLASTING PROMISES TO JACOB HAVE BEEN FROGOTTEN AND FLUSHED—ARE GUILTY OF BLASPHEMOUS HERESY FROM HELL. I think Scripture’s that clear on it.
However, even there, I still have a lot of charitable feelings toward such willfully blind folks. And, I am treating them even at my fiercest—as I’d truly prefer to be treated if Brothers or Sisters thought I was THAT wrong vis a vis Scripture.

Seriously, Quix, I think the “nutcase” label is warranted in this instance. This new poster boasts in his FR profile that he aims “to bring the Bride of Christ together AS ONE !”, yet he spends his time on FR posting doomsday prophecies and arguing with other FReepers. Unlike his stated objective, he brings no unity whatsoever to the discussions.
I am, to put it politely, negatively impressed.

as consistently and fairly as you seem to think you do.
Unity has to be built on truth as well as love and The Lord’s Blood.
HE alone can manage that.
I have no trouble seeing Jedediah as contributive of such . . . unity with the pharisees will never happen.

9. You said that hopefully most folks would not cooperate in a free-for-all rock-throwing spear-hoisting TEASING game of skewering the prophet to the wall, and that brings to my mind when the children teased Elisha, calling him Old Baldie, Old Baldie, “Go up, go up”.
The implication being that they were demanding he follow Elijah’s example and be caught up into the air, a kind of mockery.
Whether they were a gang of teenage boys as some have said, or a group of school kids, there’s a lesson in that for all of us, about criticizing one’s physical appearance and one’s giftings and callings which come from God Himself. Doing such has dire consequences. Maybe not always being killed and eaten by a mama bear, but, still, God won’t be amused and the messenger He sends will be ferocious. Not smart to treat God’s anointed ones thataway.

The trouble is in defining “Pharisees.”
Seems to me that prowling around labeling everyone who disagrees with you as a “Pharisee” might be, in itself, Pharisaical! (Is that a word?) They spent, as I recall, a great deal of time and effort finding specks in the eyes of their fellow man and ignoring planks in their own eyes.
I didn’t invent that metaphor.
I’ve been around long enough to have learned that it’s not my job to draw lines. The Lord Himself gets to decide who’s “in” and who’s “out” — and his judgement may not match mine. My job is to keep my own nose clean.

Amen. Christians are known to ‘kick their wounded.’ I think every great move of God was shortened by Christians naysaying and picking it to pieces. We’ll have a lot to repent of before He returns.
