If your mind is polluted with replaying old tapes and triggering negative emotions, this of course will not work. Repentance is then required with silent prayer and self examination.

If that sounds gnostic to you, well I don't know. It's the difference between knowing about Jesus and knowing Him within as the mind of Christ.

As for my last line. That is my declarative statement where I am on the path. It perhaps does not apply to you.

What you’re talking about is transcendental meditation and there is NO biblical imperative for doing this.
