Since we got the news last week that our parish is going to be getting a convent of sisters from India, I thought this would be a good thread to tell you. We are so excited!

They are a Franciscan order dedicated to nursing and teaching, and will help at our school and also work at St. Francis hospital near us.

We have not had sisters in our parish for over 30 years. This was wonderful news!

Also, they wear traditional habits.

They will get the building that was the former convent on the parish grounds, and our church offices will be relocated to the basement of the main building. Remodeling will be done this winter.

This is so cool!

May He be praised and may this Franciscan order bring more of Christ to us.

We think of India as a third world nation. Not only are they world class in engineering, they are proving world class in Catholicism.
