And to think, you first ran into me in the middle of the birthcertificate battle. I got bored with those BC threads fairly quickly. Paulist is right, ya know. They say, “seek and ye shall find”, which is why I am on Freeper. A few years back, when I stopped seeking, It didn’t take long for me to become a “backslider”. Is that word out of vogue?

My first impression of you (truth be told) was that you seemed to be focused on ringing the dinner bell for our resident anti-birther crowd which seemed kinda trollish to me, but first impressions aren’t always correct, as I’ve learned right here in this thread, i.e., we’ve got Paulist going to town, taking issue with me about this, that and the other thing, and then after you graciously tell them how to find someone’s FR home page, (he was ‘seeking’ and you helped him ‘find’ it ;) he proceeds to go data mining for some political comment I made on MY page for use as fodder in a RELIGIOUS thread, that’s something only a closet-0bama supporter or just a plain ol’ self-righteous holier-than-thou dirtbag would do.
But enough about our local Pharisee.
Now about your claiming to be a backslider (either past or present), each and every one of us is a backslider at some point in our life, our Christian walk is not always consistent, with some people it’s falling off the wagon after giving up the booze, for others it’s being unable to get that nicotine demon off their back, for some it’s being (as Robert Duvall said in his portrayal of the pentecostal Preacher Euliss ‘Sonny’ Dewey in ‘The Apostle’) a “womanizer”, or perhaps something as bland as choosing to go play 18 holes on a Sunday morning instead of going to church. It’s any number of things that can become an obstacle between us, flawed and imperfect human sinners, and Jesus Christ, Flawless, Perfect and without sin.
And fortunately, God is quick to forgive when we confess our sins and failings to Him. There is only One Mediator between God and man, which is Christ Jesus.
