Pray for the Republic and Obama Week 44

14And unto the angel of the church of the Laodiceans write; These things saith the Amen, the faithful and true witness, the beginning of the creation of God;

15I know thy works, that thou art neither cold nor hot: I would thou wert cold or hot.

16So then because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spue thee out of my mouth.

17Because thou sayest, I am rich, and increased with goods, and have need of nothing; and knowest not that thou art wretched, and miserable, and poor, and blind, and naked:

18I counsel thee to buy of me gold tried in the fire, that thou mayest be rich; and white raiment, that thou mayest be clothed, and that the shame of thy nakedness do not appear; and anoint thine eyes with eyesalve, that thou mayest see.

20Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me.

21To him that overcometh will I grant to sit with me in my throne, even as I also overcame, and am set down with my Father in his throne.

Lord God, I come to You today in a nation that has lost its way and is threatened with destruction. I come to You today as a member of Your family, which has turned from its first love and has become altogether lukewarm. I come to You on a forum that is dedicated to the truth - but ultimately wonder how many of us truly love it? How many of us can handle it? We look at Washington and say OBAMA is our problem. Or, Pelosi, Reid, the Democrat Party, the Republicans - but we miss the forest for the trees. Our problem is US. For too long we have tolerated evil. For too long we have not made waves. For too long we have stood on the line of sin flirting with it, being seduced by it, and ultimately succumbing to it. Lord. I see many people who appear to be somewhat awake - but to what? Their problem isn't Washington - yet that is where the anger is direct. Our battle is with Satan and it is towards him that our anger should be directed.

Ephesians 6:12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.

Father, no matter what it takes, and I say this with a certain fear but also knowing You are far kinder to us that we deserve - my prayer for America is that she would return to You. A Republic that is not under God is not our Republic. A land that has rejected the One who makes them free is not free indeed. Turn America's heart towards You. Make us care for only You. Heal our land, Lord - to Your honor and glory we pray these things. Amen.

Heavenly Father,

Thank You for the blessings You have poured out on this nation. You have given us so much and have been so gracious to us. Your patience with us has been more than we deserve.

Please help me and others pray for Obama and those who we disagree with. Take away the anger in my heart and help me to see him the way you do, a lost soul. May we do as you have commanded us to do, pray for our enemies. Give us your heart and eyes to love and care about everyone’s soul.

Lord, I pray that You would soften the heart of Obama and let the message of your saving grace reach his heart and mind. Send workers to speak to him of gift of salvation. May he hear the truth of the gospel and see the evil in his heart, that is present in every heart, repent and be saved. Let people see that YOU are the ONLY true HOPE and YOU NEVER change. We find our hope in you.

I also pray for all leader in this nation, that they would turn to You and be saved. Father, we pray for a revival in this nation. Not a political one, but a true spiritual revival that would change the hearts and lives of every person in this nation, and the world. We know we have failed many times in this nation, allowing sin to prevail. May we all look within our own hearts and make things right with You.

Protect our troops and their families. Alert them to hidden dangers and give them strength, courage and the ability to stand up to any dangers they face. Meet their needs and bless them and their families for the sacrifices they are making.

I thank You that people are waking up to the wrongs in this government. Help us to stand firm against those who want to change our nation into a godless immoral society. We did not stand up as we should have when You we're removed from the classroom, then from the public square..... and because of that many of our schools are dangerous places for our children. Some of our judges and political leaders have made laws that are sinful and evil. Father, we need You to fight for us. Give us the strength and courage to stand up and speak up for righteousness and most of all, make it known that You are welcome in and needed in this country. You know the mountains we face, lies, media, and attacks we don't even see. Eph 6 says we fight not against flesh and blood, but against spiritual darkness in high places. Go before us and give us insight and wisdom how to fight these battles. We know the outcome, its the battles that seem hard. But with You all things are possible. Amen.

Heavenly Father,

We thank you for being a God who loves us and listens as we call out to You. Sometimes we don't know what to ask, but You know what is needed. So we bring Obama to You asking that you work in his heart and mind, helping him to see his great need for You. You word says “the fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom”. Please reveal Yourself to him. Open his eyes to Your greatness and power, Your mercy and love. Lord, put Godly people around him, Your people, who will share with him, Your wisdom, knowledge and understanding. Remove any people from his administration who are hostile to You and Your people. Help him to see Your truth and turn from evil. May he open his heart to You and accept Your gift of salvation.

We also ask that You protect this nation, our troops around the world and Israel. May we all put our trust in You. In Jesus’ name I pray,
