The Church is Christ's bride (Ephesians 5:29) and has "no spot, wrinkle or blemish" (Ephesians 5:27). Christ also stated that the gates of Hell will not prevail against His Church (Matthew 16:18). Individual clergy may commit sins, even popes commit sins because in the Church there are both "weeds and wheat" (Matthew 13:30).
In removing yourself from the Church, the only one who suffers is you. You have removed yourself from the life-giving sacrament of Holy Eucharist.
"I am the living bread which came down from heaven: if any man eat of this bread, he shall live for ever: and the bread that I will give is my flesh, which I will give for the life of the world. The Jews therefore strove among themselves, saying, How can this man give us [his] flesh to eat? Then Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Except ye eat the flesh of the Son of man, and drink his blood, ye have no life in you. Whoso eateth my flesh, and drinketh my blood, hath eternal life; and I will raise him up at the last day. For my flesh is meat indeed, and my blood is drink indeed. He that eateth my flesh, and drinketh my blood, dwelleth in me, and I in him." - John 6:51-56
Whatever your disagreement with the Church, why not visit Catholics Come Home. You have nothing to lose.
Wow. We surely go to different Catholic Churches.
So, instead of avoiding the one True Church and bemoaning those that you say are involved, how 'bout getting involved to change it for the better?
There's only one True Church. No place else to go......
‘Far too many Marxists’ — The Catholic Church is fighting the same battle we are fighting outside the church: the libs are trying to take over, the conservatives are holding the line of orthodoxy/ tradition. You will not find every CC full of Marxists. There are ways to spot those and avoid them.
But new, conservative, orthodox priests are coming in, especially in the Dioceses with conservative leadership. We have a new priest at our church, SO on fire for the Lord. Not a Marxist to be seen, and those parishioners who supported the Sodomite Marriage Initiative in the last election have run, screaming, after the very strongly-worded no-nonsense homilies.
Surprised then that you're not leaving the USA.
I believe the Catholics helped get Mr. Obama elected.
The church left me.
I did not leave the church.
I don't think too much on political stances, or who should be doing what within the hierarchy of the church. I only concentrate on what I can do to serve and adore God. I certainly am a venial critter, but I thank God for giving me the chance to start over each and everyday within his presence.
Blessings to you, my friend.
That's OK. If you haven't got the constitution to fight the fight, then you'd just get in the way.
